Police Scotland have decided not to make any charges after investigating claims of anti-Catholic singing on route to the Scottish Cup semi-final in April.
Reporting the outcome Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports News added the hashtag #hatewontwin as he expressed his own view on the verdict.
Today’s announcement follows a depressing pattern where events are highlighted on social media, an investigation is launched followed by minimal action or the case being closed completely.
In probably the worst such case hundreds of Ibrox fans sang The Famine Song as they were escorted along Argyle Street in August 2021.
No attempt was made to stop the singing, after a video clip went viral an investigation followed with a handful of people charged despite extensive CCTV coverage along the route.
UPDATE: Police Scotland have closed their investigation into sectarian & anti-Catholic singing by a group of Rangers fans being escorted to Hampden Park in April – with no action taken.
They say they will “thoroughly investigate” if new information comes to light.#HateWontWin https://t.co/QyAuWIC5sl

What else do you expect, they are not likely to have an investigation as it would mean investigating themselves.
Given that a large number of that horde would have been off duty fuzz it’s hardly surprising they aren’t going to bother investigating. The real scandal is that this state of affairs is allowed to continue year in year out.
police Scotland full of bigots and racists and blue cheerleaders what do you expect from a corrupt police force hard of hearing and poor eye sight only in week Scotland plus a poor government stays silent on the bigot fans what a shower running Scotland.
