At the end of January every bear was nodding in agreement with Kris Boyd as they welcomed the greatest signing in Scottish football since Paul Gascoigne (who sneaked away to Middlesbrough as Celtic closed in on denying Walter Smith 10-in-a-row).

There was barely a dissenting voice or tweet as the signing of Aaron Ramsey reassured that fragile superiority complex that all was well inside their bubble of delusion.

The previous weekend some comic cut defending from Allan McGregor, Calvin Bassey and Connor Goldson coupled with a 90th minute winner from Liel Abada cut the gap at the top of the table to just two points… ahead of a Glasgow derby.

Rambo Ramsey watched from the Directors Box as Celtic destroyed ther city rivals, spooked from the moment that the disco lights plunged James Tavernier and his pals into darkness, surrounded by 60,000 hostile voices.

The Welsh wizard did manage to score against Celtic in April but by half time the hoops were in front with Ramsey watching the conclusion to the match, and the SPFL title ‘race’ from the bench.

His biggest moment was still to come. Given the chance of becoming a European winner his bottle crashed in Seville with a feeble penalty saved by Kevin Trapp.

Ramsey’s name is now trash at Ibrox- elsewhere in Scottish football he will be celebrated for sparing the nation from the most unbearable summer imaginable.

Scotland has some fantastic golf courses.
