Decision soon but report claims that Vinicius Souza has ruled out Club Brugge

Vinicius Souza is reported to have ruled out joining Club Brugge. 

The midfielder has been linked with Celtic but also a number of good quality continental clubs after making a big impact last season with Mechelen. 

Souza is registered with Lommel but is highly unlikely to play for the Belgian Second Division side who are part of the City Football Group. 

Ajax and PSV Eindhoven have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old although Fenerbache have dropped their interest after having a bid rejected by Lommel. 

Covering the transfer options at Club Bruge, VP reports: 

In addition to Nielsen, the name of Vinicius has also been around on Jan Breydel for a while. The controller was a revelation at KV Mechelen , but is part of the City Football Group. Club Brugge does not seem to have to hope for a loan or a definitive takeover, because Vinicius has set his sights on a foreign company. He is said to be announcing his choice soon. 

Souza is an out and out defensive midfielder, a role that only Callum McGregor was trusted to play in last season by Ange Postecoglou. 

James McCarthy and Yosuke Ideguchi were signed last season but for various reasons neither player was able to hold down a place in the team. 

With Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alexandro Bernabei signed up Celtic have completed a significant part of their transfer business with perhaps just two more first team ready signings to be added.
