Respected French journalist makes surprise Celtic transfer claim

Transfer

A leading French journalist has claimed that Celtic are working on a deal to sign Edouard Michut from Paris Saint Germain.

The teenager was linked with Celtic in midweek but Ange Postecoglou distanced the club from a move when he spoke after the 4-2 win over Banik Ostrava.

Situations can change quickly during the transfer window, with six weeks left to complete business and a fortnight ahead of the opening SPFL match the Celtic boss is looking to have two new players signed by the time Norwich visit Celtic Park.

At 11.30 this morning Nicola Schira tweeted.

#Celtic are working to try to sign #PSG’s young talent Edouard #Michut. #Paris want €5-6M and a % on the future sale. #transfers

Schira’s Twitter bio describes him as an expert in the Transfer Market, with over 230,000 Twitter followers he clearly has a lot of credibility.

Most of Postecoglou’s signings have been in their mid-twenties but with arrivals from Japan and Argentina the Celtic boss has shown that if the right player is available for the right price he will back his judgement in the market.

Last season Michut made five Ligue 1 substitute appearances for PSG totalling 66 minutes.
