Ross County have issued a strongly worded statement warning Celtic fans about purchasing tickets for the Global Energy Stadium.

Sunday’s League Cup draw means that Ange Postecoglou will be visiting Dingwall twice during July which should have keep the Ticket Office and Hospitality team at County busy.

With a capacity of just 6,451 County should be able to identify everyone buying tickets as a home fan but it seems that after happily selling tickets they have cracked down with refunds ordered for suspicious purchases for the home ends of the stadium.

This afternoon the club stated:

Ross County would like to put out a very clear message at this stage that any Celtic supporters attempting to purchase tickets for the home end will be refused. Those who try to gain entry to the home end will also be rejected.

We are already cancelling numerous purchased tickets by suspected Celtic supporters for the home end and refunds have been processed.

We need to be very clear that only those who have a ticketing history for home matches will be sold tickets.

NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD ON THE DAY OF THE MATCH

It is disappointing and unacceptable that our Staff have been threatened and intimidated by some individuals attempting to falsely purchase tickets, and this shall not be tolerated.

The League Cup tie on August 31 will be shown live on Premier Sports but the SPFL match on July 6 will go ahead with a Saturday 3pm kick off.

Already this season St Mirren and Hearts have announced that there will be reductions on the traditional allocation of tickets given to Celtic supporters.

Last season Celtic visited Dingwall for two SPFL matches, winning 2-1 in December then 2-0 in May in the run-in to lifting the title.
