Fifteen months after signing his last contract James Tavernier is set to sign a new deal keeping him at Ibrox until 2026.

With John Lundstram, Connor Goldson and Ben Davies signing more recent deals it is believed that the former Wigan Athletic and MK Dons utility man had seriously fallen down the wages pecking order.

Signed by Mark Warburton in 2015 there hasn’t been a sniff of interest in Tav down the years despite the hype he gets from the Scottish media.

Having done the rounds of lower division clubs in England it seems that Championship clubs aren’t impressed by a record of winning two trophies out of 20 in what is regarded as a two horse race.

In recent months Allan McGregor, Steve Davis and Scott Arfield have signed new contracts, Tav’s new contract takes him through to a few months short of his 35th birthday.

Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Filip Helander and Ryan Jack are out of contract in May 2023.

Nobody else will take him and the rest of Dads army!
The ones that have managed to escape have not cost what the media says.
There are lies followed by more and more lies from the club from Govan every day.

That klub wouldn’t look out of place in the House of Commons and neither would the twobob so called Scottish media with their LIES and FAKE news.
Mind you they would also blend right in their with the BIGGEST LIAR AND BIGOT bumbling Boris himself.
How can you tell when the sevco board and the klan klubs fans are telling lies?
      Their lips are moving.

  • John says:

Is it not them just gearing up for all the penalties they are going to get this year ?, would not have the same impact with any other club as it is penalties he specialises in , and of course we know the Scottish refs are more that willing to help him be penalty king.

  • Scud Missile says:

So a £50 million player is now a £100 million player with that contract extension.
But that won’t stop the big clubs from putting in a bid.
