Woops! BBC reporter Jane Lewis can’t bear to announce a home defeat from Ibrox

It seems that the sports staff at BBC Scotland are walking on eggshells after the state broadcaster issued a grovelling apology then threw Michael Stewart under the bus to regain access to Ibrox.

On Friday Reporting Scotland produced a PR piece on Walter Tull from inside Ibrox, previewing today’s friendly match against Spurs.

Unfortunately it wasn’t very friendly between the fans as Police Scotland were forced into action before the match.

Tottenham won the match 2-1 with Harry Kane scoring in the 50th and 56th minutes after Antonio Colak opened the scoring in the first half.

Covering the results on Radio Scotland ‘Motherwell fan’ Jane Lewis unfortunately got the score-line the wrong way round.

Reading out score-lines is fairly basic, perhaps it was rustiness on the back of a long close season. Hopefully Lewis will be on her A game when the competitive action gets underway with the first Champions League qualifier just 10 days away and the prospect of Malmo II when Union SG visit Ibrox.
