Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Yosuke Ideguchi is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder missed a chunk of last season after a nasty injury at Alloa in the Scottish Cup, this season he suffered a knock in training that has ruled him out of Celtic’s first two matches in the SPFL Premiership.
Postecoglou is well covered for midfield options but after signing in January Ideguchi has still to properly launch his Celtic career.
Speaking to The Sun, Potecoglou said:
Ideguchi is still a fair bit off and in rehab. He got a fair few stitches in his leg that need to be taken out. It’s going to be a bit of a process with him, but he’s back at the club now doing his individual work.
By the tone of those comments Ideguchi is probably facing at least a month ot of action, by the time he resumes fitness eltic will be well into their two games a week schedule.
Reo Hatate will miss Sunday’s match at Kilmarnock but should be fully fit for next Sunday’s home match against Hearts.
With Aaron Mooy signed up and coming off the bench in Celtic’s last two matches Postecoglou still has plenty of options across the centre of the park.
Remember Andy Thom? Great player, small and slight. Kicked all over.
