Ange Postecoglou is confident that Moritz Jenz can shrug off the knock that restricted him to just over 50 minutes of action today at Kilmarnock.Â
The on-loan defender had a lively time of it, scoring with an overhead kick and getting the better of Kyle Lafferty in a very physical joust.Â
Shortly after the half-time break Jenz appeared to be hobbling, after treatment he was replaced by Carl Starfelt who managed to score his first Celtic goal on route to a 5-0 victory.Â
Asked about the injury to Jenz, Postecoglou told The National:Â
I think he is okay. I’m not sure what the issue was. He was feeling something but we had a look after the game and he seemed okay. It doesn’t seem like anything serious.
Jenz took a full part in the post match celebrations, rushing with Kyogo Furuhashi towards the away supporters.Â
With Starfelt back in contention for a starting place Postecoglou has some strong options for next week’s home match against Hearts which is sandwiched between two Europa League play-off ties for Robbie Neilson’s side against Zurich.Â
So far this season central defenders have scored four out of Celtic’s 10 goals in the SPFL Premiership.Â
