Tonight’s League Cup tie at Ibrox against Queen of the South will be shown live on the television station that sponsor the competition.
Part of the deal for the sponsorship, in fact the only reason for the sponsorship, is to get the company name in front of as many eyes as possible. Raise awareness and sales/subscriptions.
Premier Sports want every possible reminder sent out that if you want to watch this competition you need to buy a subscription, there are matches this month and next, in the new year they will show the semi-finals and final.
Earlier this summer the SPFL announced a revised sponsorship deal with cinch with one club having an opt out. They’ll still benefit from the prize pot but you won’t see the sponsors logo on their kit, backing boards or being advertised pitch-side. That is left for the other mugs to plug while they sell off those spaces for themselves.
The cinch opt-out seems to apply to all SPFL sponsorship deals with no pre-match media conference yesterday from Giovanni van Bronckhorst in front of a large backing board.
At lunchtime today Celtic did their bit for the sponsors, Ange Postecoglou spent eight minutes in front of an advertising board for the station that is showing tomorrow’s match.
Have Rangers actually used tape to cover the cinch branding on Motherwell’s press/interview backdrops? How bloody tinpot is that ? pic.twitter.com/awHDQNZs16

On top of their Five Way Agreement from 2012 it seems that the Tribute Act can pick and choose the sponsorship deals that suit them- with not even a whimper of complaint from the other clubs promoting the sponsor at every turn.

All diseased orange cunts HH
Well done Lawwell & Desmond, you must be very proud of yourselves.
So what is the sevco connection this time as an excuse with another Sports Broadcaster clashing with Premier Sports maybe Sky Sports.
Who cares , the celtic board certainly dont . They know that the celtic family will always reqard their negligence, and pay up no matter what
I can’t believe they received a pay-out for a deal they refused. Other clubs should follow suit.
All it takes for the Hun to do what they want is for everyone to stay silent. That is like being complicit and just as guilty!
