Barry Ferguson has questioned the commitment of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos following the Champions League disappointment against PSV Eindhoven.

Perhaps if the club offered the two contract rebels the same wages that Kemar Roofe is picking up they’d get commitment from the players.

Ferguson quit Rangers twice during his playing days but after the hurt of last night’s draw wants Kent and Morelos to show the commitment that he lacked.

Listening in to his appearance on Go Radio, the Daily Record reports Ferguson saying:

Kent was good (last night.) I am a big fan of Ryan Kent. I think when he is on it, he is a match winner, similar to Jota. But his contract is up at the end of the season. I need to see a bit of commitment.

Whether they are waiting until this game in Eindhoven to see if Rangers do progress or not (I don’t know), but if Rangers do win and want to challenge for things they have to keep a player like Kent. I’m just greedy.

I want a better end product. There is no doubt he has got fantastic ability, but I am looking to see more goals. As a wide player I would be looking at 10-12 goals a season. He is a player who I think highly of.

It’ll be interesting to see if Kent, and Morelos, commit themselves. You are getting down to the nitty gritty now. I want to see commitment. If you lose two players of that quality it’s a big hit for Rangers.

Kent was on the park last night, Morelos sat on the bench. Ryan Jack and Filip Helander are also out of contract in May.
