Celtic won’t have to worry about Ross Callachan or Jack Baldwin in next week’s League Cup tie against Ross County.
Both players were involved in horrific challenges against Kilmarnock on Saturday that referee David Munro felt only merited bookings.
The SFA offered the players retrospective red cards which they accepted which means that they miss Saturday’s visit to Ibrox followed by the Celtic cup tie.
Most suspensions only relate to the competition that they are incurred in but certain offences result in the punishments being served immediately.
? Jack Baldwin & Ross Callachan have accepted two-match bans after being charged by the Scottish FA compliance officer for tackles against Kilmarnock.

Both of the incidents provoked outrage when they surfaced on Saturday, fortunately with Baldwin’s incident Kerr McInroy didn’t suffer any serious injury. The suspensions are little consolation to Kilmarnock who lost Saturday’s match 1-0.
While the two players are out of action referee Munro will be picking up his match fee on Saturday when Arbroath take on Hamilton Accies in The Championship, next week he’ll be in charge of Livingston v Dundee United in the League Cup.
How did Munro not issue a red card for that tackle.
Ross County are a dirty team with a manager having a physical approach to the game.
The two players who have retrospectively received red cards are two of the dirtiest in Scottish football. Referee Munro seems to be very incompetent.
‘Referee Munro seems to be very incompetent’ – totally agree Pan… but my goodness he has plenty company in that sphere for sure !
The real reason for these challenges is the disturbingly outrageous incompetence of referees who do not clamp down quickly on inappropriate tackles. In the video above the ball has been released a few yards as the player pushes it onwards and the tackling player’s intent is clearly see as he goes in on the player who has already released the ball. The two Ross County players are dirty and aggressive players beyond belief.
Of course you are absolutely correct ‘Clachnaccudin and the Hoops’, this applies to most of our refs.
This should actually be a multi-game ban. This referee is a joke.
