Don Robertson will be in charge of Celtic’s trip to Ross County on Saturday- on the back of his performance at Livingston on Saturday.

Back in 2017 Robertson came to the fore by awarding an incredible penalty against Celtic which retrospectively resulted in a suspension for Alex Schalk.

Brendan Rodgers rarely criticised match officials but that penalty which threatened Celtic’s Invincible record proved one decision too far.

Last season Robertson was involved in two controversial incidents in Celtic matches that saw the SFA step in and award retrospective red cards.

Against Dundee United in December Calum Butcher flew late into David Turnbull with only a yellow card shown, a month later Mouhamed Niang of Alloa suffered a similar fate following an attack on Yosuke Ideguchi.

In March Kayne Ramsey was shown a straight red card by Robertson in the 29th minute of Ross County’s 4-0 defeat at Celtic Park having escaped punishment from a dubious tackle a few minutes earlier.
