Nicky Katic is set to end his Ibrox hell with a move to FC Zurich.

The defender returned from a season long loan at Hadjuk Split to fight for his place at Ibrox but has been shunned by Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

John Sicknote Souttar and Ben Davies have barely surfaced since being signed by van Bronckhorst who has tried to fit James Sands into central defence rather than play Katic.

With Jozo Simunovic no longer at Celtic it looks like Borna Barisic is in for some lonely times in the months ahead.

The Sun reports:

Nikola Katic is set to finally end his outcasted spell at Rangers with a move away from Glasgow.

That’s according to Croatian outlet Germanijak – who claim a move to join Swiss side FC Zurich has now been agreed.

They claim the defender could even debut for his new side as soon as this weekend and the 25-year-old would have the chance to play Europa League football too – with Zurich drawn in a group alongside Arsenal, Bodo/Glimt and PSV.

Katic has a year left on his contract and is expected to move on for a substantial undisclosed fee.
