When you are down to nine men and two minutes away from securing an important victory it is the time for leaders, for big men to step forward. Or Connor Goldson.
A journeyman at best the former Shrewsbury starlet has excelled at Ibrox, looking decent in matches that he is barely troubled but found woefully short whenever the pressure is on.
At Hampden last November he was at the heart of a defence that lost three goals in 45 minutes to Hibs, Martin Boyle grabbed a hat-trick and a cup final place for his side.
In February Goldson was in defence alongside James Tavernier, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic that went in at half-time trailing Celtic 3-0.

Goldson is also something of a folk hero in Frankfurt, during the close season he signed a new four year contract at Ibrox after discovering that there was no other interest in him.
