Josh Clarke made his debut yesterday, putting on the gloves as Celtic’s B team enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over Dalbeattie Star at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium.
The keeper has been with Chelsea and Bournemouth but after signing a short contract with Glenavon he moved to Celtic earlier this month on a two year contract.
Tobi Oluwayemi has been the regular goalkeeper in the Lowland League but with the UEFA Youth League 10 days away Clarke got his first taste of action.
There wasn’t too much for the keeper to do with Adam Brooks and Bosan Lawal putting the hoops 2-0 up at half-time.
Rocco Vata increased the lead in the 51st minute with Tsianelo Letsosa and a second from Vata completing the scoring.
The win lifted Celtic into fourth place in the Lowland League table with 14 points from 8 matches, on Wednesday the B team takes on Stirling University.
