Don Robertson showed once again that he shouldn’t be anywhere near top flight football with an incredible decision at Ibrox today.
Fifteen minutes into the match against Ross County a long through ball was played towards Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila. The forward positioned himself goalside of James Sands but as he looked to race in on goal he was wrestled to the ground.
In any other circumstances it would be a free kick and a red card for Sands but not with Robertson who waved play on knowing that with Sands already booked the referee knew that blowing for a free kick would force him into ordering off the American defender.
Can’t believe thats not a red lol pic.twitter.com/WxZfW5M382

Robertson also refereed Livingston’s match against the Ibrox side on the opening day of the season, with the season in its infancy Robertson has been in charge of 40% of the domestic fixtures involving Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.
Last season the SFA were forced into issuing retrospective red cards to Calum Butcher of Dundee United and Mouhamed Niang for fouls in matches against Celtic that Robertson deemed were only yellow card offences.
Don Robertson bottles it as Sands rugby challenges Ross County striker denying a goalscoring opportunity. Play on from Robertson, Sands already on a booking #stitchup #o££f££m

Match day 4:
Player got a yellow card for this quite ridiculous penalty award resulting from this dive, but nothing for Sands. pic.twitter.com/LfhPV5TxO8— Lint (@Zeshankenzo) August 27, 2022
