In The Know reporter gives Ross Barkley to Celtic update

On the surface it does seem hugely unlikely before over the weekend credible English sources have tweeted positively about Celtic’s interest in Ross Barkley. 

A 28-year-old with EPL options to maintain his salary levels hasn’t really opted to move to Celtic since the Martin O’Neill days when at a push Celtic could match wages. 

If it comes down to wages on offer Celtic don’t have a look in regarding Barkley but if he has watched Joe Hart rejuvenate his career there might just be something in the recurring rumour.

Celtic have brought in one significant new face this summer with around £3.5m committed on Alexandro Bernabei. 

Mark Hendry of Football Scotland was the first reporter to link the Lanus defender with a move to Celtic. As transfers go this was from way out in left-field but on June 30 the left-back was paraded as a Celtic signing. 

Clearly Hendry has established a very sound source inside Celtic for transfer information. 

His tweet seems like a classic ‘mibbees aye, mibbes naw’ but it hasn’t been discounted like last week’s tweet dismissing Celtic’s alleged interest in Alex Collado of Barcelona.
