Without a win in their first three matches, Kenny Dalglish lapped up every minute and every goal of Liverpool’s 9-0 win over Bournemouth.

At last Liverpool’s season is up and underway although there is a bit of ground to be made up with Arsenal seven points ahead and Manchester City flexing their muscles on the park as well as in the transfer market.

At lunchtime today Dalglish probably took a look at the Celtic match, if he wasn’t watching from the start the alerts on his phone would have prompted him to tune in.

Leading 4-0 at half-time there was a feeling that Ange Postecoglou’s side could aim for Liverpool’s target set the previous day.

Liel Abada scored a second half hat-trick, defenders Josip Juranavic and Carl Starfelt pitched in with goals as Celtic set a few away day record in the era of the Premier Division/SPL/SPFL.

Next weekend Celtic and Liverpool are involved in derby matches, points rather than goals will be all that matters if Dalglish is to enjoy another happy weekend.
