Kris Boyd has promised to revisit the Jota debate in the coming weeks.
The Sky Sports expert has been more than irked in recent weeks with Scott Allan and James McFadden claiming live on air that the Celtic winger is the best player in the country.
With two spectacular 25 yard goals to his name alongside three assists the Celtic winger has started the season in spectacular fashion.
Discussing the qualities of Jota seems to be causing some discomfort to Boyd who brushed aside Allan’s claim with what appeared to be a claim for Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian is toiling to get a game this season, addressing that issue in The Sun, Boyd also touched on the Jota debate promising:
Listen, no one is a bigger fan of the striker than me — it was only a few weeks ago I stuck my neck out and spoke highly of him in the Jota “best-player-in-the-country” debate. I’ll revisit that one in the coming weeks.
Sky Sports will be at Easter Road today for the visit of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side, over the next two weekends Boyd was watch Jota close up away to Dundee United then in the September 3 Glasgow Derby.

Boyd doesn’t have it in him to offer praise to any player if he is not wearing a Rangers shirt.
He is already back tracking on his comment about Morelos being the best player in Scotland.
A) Boyd is being hypocritical, he is saying on tv today Morelos isn’t fit, how can he be the best player in the league if he is not fit?
B) Unlike Morelos, Jota doesn’t run about the park kicking and stamping on opponents.
