Kris Boyd’s praise for Celtic!

Ahead of his Sky Sports duties at Rugby Park on Sunday Kris Boyd has been showering praise on Celtic.

The former Scotland striker never seems comfortable praising the hoops, following the Glasgow Derby on May 7 he was posted missing from the matches against Dundee United and Motherwell as the hoops clinched the title then were presented with the SPFL Premiership trophy.

Celtic will be looking to extend their 34 match unbeaten SPFL run on Sunday but Rugby Park will be a new test for Ange Postecoglou who had a 50% success rate on the plastic of Livingston last season.

Ange Postecoglou’s had a period of time, unlike last season, to work with the players and to gel them into the way he wants to play. If you look at how their full-backs play, they’re more like central midfielders.

That comes from putting in the graft on the training field and you can see that Celtic are reaping the benefits from that.

Obviously, Kyogo is back and that gives them a different dimension up front. (Giorgos) Giakoumakis is a handful but their star man right now is Jota. Kilmarnock will have to be very wary of him and I’m sure it’ll be a challenge that Derek McInnes will be looking forward to.

While Celtic have two wins to their belt this season Kilmarnock have just one point to show from their start to the new season although their first three Premiership matches are against clubs competing in Europe this season.

Rugby Park has been a difficult venue for Celtic in the past but on their last visit, in February 2021, they won 4-0 with Albian Ajeti among the scorers.

Sounds like his Spanx Alan Whicker’s are a bit on the tight side!

Don’t see any praise in there really, just an objective view, which in itself is definitely out of character, perhaps not feeling himself.
