New Ibrox snub for Sakala

Fashion Sakala was back on the bench at Ibrox last night but again failed to get any game time in the win over Union SG. 

The Zambian striker hasn’t made a competitive appearance since coming on as a substitute then being replaced by Aaron Ramsey in the closing minutes of extra-time in the Europa League Final. 

Steven Gerrard snapped up Sakala from Oostende last summer, as a free agent he was given a lucrative four year contract. 

After being left out of the squad that played Kilmarnock on Saturday, Sakala was on the bench last night but wasn’t one of the four replacements used on the night. 

Scoring 12 goals from 35 appearances in the SPFL and Scottish Cup seems like a good return but it looks like his face doesn’t fit in with Giovanni van Bronckhorst. 

With Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo and Malik Tillman signed during the summer transfer window it looks like Sakala will be going out on loan before the end of this month.
