At various stages over the last few seasons Alfredo Morelos has scored a Europa League goal to turn a tie at Ibrox.

Last night when his side was in need of a burst of energy, a nuisance to opposing defenders the chunky Colombian sat out 90 minutes against PSV Eindhoven on the bench alongside deadwood like Fashion Sakala.

One goal could have made a massive difference, last night the Ibrox men were only ahead for eight minutes as they chased the £30m jackpot of a place in the group stage of the Champions League.

On media duty last night for BT Sport was Emma Dodds, the regular host of ‘Rangers TV’ sitting with Neil McCann, Craig Moore and the rest putting top spin on every faltering performance.

After a few soft ball questions Dodds asked the Morelos question, there was a one word answer followed by silence.

Anyone in doubt over Morelos’ status at Ibrox found out in an instant that his manager doesn’t rate him. With 10 months left on his contract there might not be too many European nights for the former HJK Helsinki starlet to enjoy at Ibrox.

Looks like GVB has finally saw the light with big Alfoodo and decided enough is enough .There is no way he will be playing someone who looks like a baby hippo!

I heard during Van Bronckhorst’s interview with that well known “impartial” BT Sports presenter Emma Dodds, you know the “impartial” one who presents Rangers TV, that his side were unlucky to lose the first PSV goal.

I think that when he watches the game back, he will have to admit that it was PSV who were the unlucky team because they should have been playing against a 10 man Rangers.

How Colak was allowed to continue playing is absolutely beyond me, after smacking a PSV defender on the back of the head. Some people might say that the defender made a meal of it, maybe so, but it doesn’t alter the fact that he raised his hand to a PSV player & that means it is violent conduct, which also means a straight red card.

If this isn’t the kind of thing VAR was introduced for, I don’t know what is. Not even a retrospective red card for Colak from UEFA? No, I thought not. It just makes a mockery of VAR.
