The son of John Hughes has shared details of his Father’s final hours- touchingly they were about Celtic and the lifelong bond that is the backbone of the club.

Yogi managed to take in some of Sunday’s match against Aberdeen, opponents that he had scored five times against in the sixties while wearing a pair of trainers/sannies on a snow covered pitch.

Sunshine engulfed Celtic Park on Sunday as another Coatbridge bhoy did what Yogi enjoyed most- find the net for Celtic.

Welsh won’t be as prolific as Hughes but his commitment is much the same, taking pride in every appearance and knowing the honour and responsibility that comes with the jersey.

Celtic supporters cherish those that entertain them, last season’s success and excitement would have thrilled Yogi as much as any other fan as the 2022 vintage turned on the style with a new generation of heroes from Japan, Portugal and Greece to bring success to the club just as much as the Yogi’s generation did through the sixties.
