Celtic are still looking for a one in one out striker deal before the window closes.

Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis are vying for a starting place but yesterday with the Greek striker missing there were no obvious replacement options.

Costing £4.5m from West Ham two years ago Albian Ajeti should be that option but after a three goal flurry early last season Ajeti is further out of the picture than ever.

Two more years n a lucrative EPL contract are a big obstacle to moving the striker on but with a couple of days trading left Football Scotland claims:

In terms of other potential exits, Celtic are hopeful they can offload Albian Ajeti before Thursday’s deadline. The £4.5m Swiss flop is one of the club’s highest earners but has no future under Postecoglou. Parkhead chiefs hope to move on the striker either on loan or permanently, which could possibly open the door for another forward to arrive in the opposite direction.

Finding a good quality striker prepared to come in as third choice is a tough task but not impossible.

In 2017 Brendan Rodgers had Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths competing for one place but managed to bring in Odsonne Edouard who finished his loan season with a flurry of important goals in the Glasgow Derby.
