Celtic fans were quick to give BBC Scotland feedback on the rescue act from Moritz Jenz against Ross County yesterday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side completely dominated the match, enjoying 77% possession according to the state broadcaster who struggled to acknowledge the dominance of the visitors.

Plenty of goals are scored in the 84th minute of matches, they are fairly late but certainly don’t fall into the rescue category. Perhaps if a defender scores the winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time away to Ross County it can be described as a rescue act, yesterday it wasn’t.

There was still 10 minutes playing time left in the match, enough for Liel Abada to curl in a goal-of-the-season contender with BBC Scotland clearly unhappy about the outcome for the ‘impressive’ home team.

You know, the Irish here, for the last three generations, have submitted to every political norm that there is. We have always worked hard, studied, have given generously of our time and our talents. We have paid into the welfare of the country, no beg, no rob, no steal. And yet we are still shunned at every possible opportunity. The bias against us has never diminished. Taken on new forms – yes, but never diminished! We are still viewed as “Others” and with suspicion, people to guard against, for whatever reason. Our culture has never been accepted, much less recognised, despite it being a culture of assimilation. The Scottish people pride themselves as wordly and tolerant of any other culture. But when it comes to Irish, the shutters go up. There is a contempt and a hatred there for the Irish, which is deeply placed and embedded there, in the heart and soul of the Scottish nation. Come On Ye Bhoys in Green!
