With just over 48 hours to go in the transfer window Ange Postecoglou has admitted that the club is working in the background over more deals.

Sead Haksabanovic became the eighth signing of the summer last week when he joined from Rubin Kazan but with a packed fixture list until mid-November the Celtic boss doesn’t want to leave anything to chance.

Over the course of three windows the Celtic squad has been transformed, Postecoglou has two strong options for every position with players with first team experience unable to make the bench.

No manager gives away trade secrets in a media conference but ahead of playing Ross County tomorrow the Daily Record reports the Celtic boss saying:

There’s a possibility. There’s things working on in the background both in terms of outgoings and incomings. We might well do nothing and might do a couple of things but there’s still stuff going on in the background and we’ll all find out in the next 48 hours.

Owen Moffat joined Blackpool earlier today but it looks as if incoming deals are dependent on Albian Ajeti and Mikey Johnston moving in the other direction.

Postecoglou won’t be in front of the media until tomorrow’s match with Thursday looking like a day of speculation although it is unlikely to match the final day of the summer 2021 window when Jota, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Cameron Carter-Vickers were signed.
