James McFadden has doubled down on his claim that Jota is the best player in Scotland.

On Sunday at Kilmarnock he upset his Sky Sports colleague Kris Boyd with that claim after the former Benfica winger popped in his second Goal of the Season contender.

Last season it took until the end of August before Jota signed on loan with his season broken up by a hamstring injury that cut December short after one match.

There could be some very serious figures posted if the 23-year-old continues at his current rate but three matches into the season Celtic fans are counting down the days till their next match with 60,000 ready to watch the hoops take on Hearts on Sunday.

Asked if Jota was currently the best player in Scotland, McFadden told Sky Sports:

Yes, I think if you look at his form now, he’s without doubt the best. He’s the best performer, he’s the best player in the league.

Sometimes you get players that come in on loan and they put themselves in a shop window or it’s to go back to, more often than not, their parent club and try to have an impact.

But sometimes it’s to come to the attention of others and put yourself in a shop window, so for Celtic to get that done permanently I think is fantastic business.

Around about £7m as well is an absolute bargain because it looks like he’s a better player from last season. I think he’s settled, he obviously made the decision to sign for Celtic permanently.

He’s so unpredictable – he can go left, then can go right, he creates chances, he scores goals and he’s just such an important player for Celtic. He’s so flexible and the form he’s in now, I don’t see anybody better than him.

The biggest issue for Ange Postecoglou to deal with is which position is Jota most productive in. Most of his appearances have been on the right wing but in the second half against Ross County he was switched to the left where he assisted with all three goals.

All that bawling and shouting about the state of the toilets in Seville, maybe they got the stadium’s mixed up thought they where there but actually in the ibrox going by the state the toilets are.
To think the papers had been all over this story in Seville and here it is the same situation and story to follow up on and they are nowhere to seen or a story calling out the klub and wanting to shut down the stadium.
