In a bid to show how unattached he is to other clubs David Martindale decided to tell the Battle Fever podcast that he is pure choking to take points off ‘Rangers’.Â
Since taking charge of Livingston in November 2020 the former drug dealer has lost every match he has been involved in against teams managed by Steven Gerrard or Giovanni van Bronckhorst.Â
That record is fair enough but it is his comments and actions around games against the Ibrox club that draws attention to Martindale’s attitude.Â
Saturday’s defeat, losing two goals within three minutes would leave most managers distraught. But not the Livi boss.Â
A friendly hug was shared with Scott Arfield ahead of consoling his own players. After the match he really came into his own as he enthused over his opponents in media interviews.Â
Wee Scotty was mentioned as if he was a close pal while ‘Tav does what Tav does’ sounded like the sort of comment that you’d hear on a fans podcast. Funnily enough.Â
Two interviews with David Martindale.
