The weakest link! Team mates vote unfit Alfie out of Champions League squad

Alfredo Morelos’ team-mates have voted him out of the squad for the Champions League Play Off against PSV Eindhoven.

The chunky striker has been fat-shamed by Kris Boyd which is pretty low but being binned by the players you share a dressing room with is almost unknown.

Morelos has looked badly out of shape in his substitute appearances this season but tellingly was left on the bench despite Giovanni van Bronckhorst having three options left in the first leg draw with PSV.

Sky Sports reports:

Alfredo Morelos has been left out of Rangers’ squad for their Champions League play-off second-leg against PSV Eindhoven.

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst made the decision following various concerns including the strikers’ fitness levels and attitude over the early stages of this season.

Sky Sports News understands Van Bronckhorst consulted various senior players within the squad, who all unanimously backed the decision.

Morelos was sent off 13 minutes after coming on as a substitute at Easter Road on Saturday, however, that incident is not the sole reason behind this move.

With an SFA suspension coming up on Saturday against Ross County it is difficult to find a way back into favour for the former HJK Helsinki starlet.

By leaking the reasons for his omission to Sky Sports it is clear that the Ibrox club are looking to move the striker on but with his contract expiring in May Morelos holds all of the cards.

Antonio Colak is the only recognised striker in the squad, Morelos is the club’s record goalscorer in European competitions.
