Connor Goldson was the fall-guy at Ibrox tonight as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side lost two goals from set-pieces to PSV Eindhoven in a Champions League Play Off.

Despite the advantage of Fortress Ibrox the home side had to settle for a 2-2 draw and now have to get a win in the Philips Stadium next week to join Celtic in the group stage of the Champions League.

In May Goldson and Calvin Bassey were at fault as Eintracht Frankfurt equalised in the final of the Europa League before going on to lift the trophy after penalties.

Tonight Goldson flapped at a 37th minute corner with Ibrahim Sangare smashing the loose ball home from eight yards.

Having got themselves into a 2-1 lead the former Shrewsbury starlet ducked away from a corner in the 78th minute allowing Armando Obispo to head home the equaliser.

The reaction from Ibrox fans on Twitter wasn’t overly sympathetic to Goldson who signed a bumper four year contract in the summer.
