Alfredo Morelos has responded to being ditched by his manager and team-mates with a warrior quote on Instagram.

On Saturday the overweight warrior was sent off after 13 minutes against Hibs, deserting his team-mates as they dropped two points to fall behind Celtic in the race for the title.

Rather than make his own decision Giovanni van Bronckhorst consulted senior players (likely to be James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Steve Davis and Allan McGregor) before leaking the news to Sky Sports News. Morelos didn’t train with the first team today.

The best warrior is not the one who always triumphs but the one who fearlessly returns to battle. Fear of God

With less than a year to go on his contract Morelos is now almost worthless, in January he’ll be able to sign a pre-contract to move on as a free agent next summer.

Antonio Colak is the only striker available to van Bronckhorst with the pressure all on the former Malmo star to deliver the goals as Morelos watches from home on the warrior sofa.
