Sunday’s match against Aberdeen was a special occasion for all Celtic fans but for Rocco Reilly it was something extra.
The Dubai Hoops is a very active Celtic Supporters Club, thriving in the gulf and providing a footballing and social link for those settled in Dubai and the thousands of Celtic fans that visit all year round.
Scotland, Glasgow and Celtic must be a bit of a mystery for kids brought up in Dubai but for Rocco it all became reality on Sunday as he put on his Celtic kit, grabbed a small flag and climbed the steps to see what it is all about.
The anticipation and excitement were obvious as he set eyes on that green rectangle that is so precious to generations of fans.
Pre-match the atmosphere was electric, Stephen Welsh quickly headed the first live goal that Rocco witnessed but it might be a while before he sees a goal better than Jota’s that secured the points as Ange Postecoglou’s side set off hunting down another SPFL title.
