Celtic have released a special video clip- 130 years after the opening of Celtic Park.

It wasn’t much of a switch, basically across the road, but the field north of London Road and between Janefield Street and Springfield Road has housed plenty of drama down the years.

After a variety of stands went up and came back down the stadium stayed much the same for the first 60 years of the 20th century before a few roofs went up but the basic bowl stayed much the same until 1994 and a season at Hampden Park.

The next five years witnessed the construction of three striking new stands went up to take the ground into the 21st century, over the last 20 years the changes have mainly been on the surroundings with new screens/banners on the outside and The Celtic Way transforming the approach to the Main Stand.

Next month the Champions League bunting will return, by October the full impact of the Disco Lights will be on display, hopefully as effective as they were in February at the Glasgow Derby.
