There will be no pre-match media conference from Giovanni van Bronckhorst today.
Tuesday’s defeat from Union SG and some mildly critical coverage of the performance and of the manager has pushed the Communications Director into not communicating.
Last Friday BBC Scotland and others were back in the fold to ask banal questions, today the club will release an in-house video interview with van Bronckhorst with the usual media outlets expected to apply favourable spin.

That’s just one of the things I admire about Big Ange. He never hides like GVB and many of his predecessors have, when anything goes wrong or there’s the slightest bit of criticism for a bad result. Even with the (understandably) rocky start Ange got off to and the hostile media environment any Celtic manager has to work in, he has fronted up to these microphoned clowns every time. He is definitely capable of taking any of these media fuds on. They typically start out trying to make him look stupid, incompetent and out of his depth, but the tables are typically turned with one deft comment – usually a statement ending with the word “mate”.
