There will be no pre-match media conference from Giovanni van Bronckhorst today.
Tuesday’s defeat from Union SG and some mildly critical coverage of the performance and of the manager has pushed the Communications Director into not communicating.
Last Friday BBC Scotland and others were back in the fold to ask banal questions, today the club will release an in-house video interview with van Bronckhorst with the usual media outlets expected to apply favourable spin.
Part of BBC Scotland’s contract with the SPFL entitles them to pre and post match interviews with all managers, at this moment it seems highly unlikely that Kenny Macintyre will be firing the big questions ahead of the match with Kilmarnock.
Yesterday new signing Ridman Yilvaz was available for interview through a Turkish interpreter.
Does that mean those outlets who pay cash for questions to the tribute act media pow wows ,are entitled to a rebate? Don’t hold your breath!
They Know a result tomorrow v Kilmarnock and the BBC, Clyde SSB and all will lord them as world class.
About time the SPINELESS celtic board started to stick up for our players when they kicked all the park under the watchful eye of the corrupt sfa referees and the Scottish media full of HUNS.
Oh f**k there are some serious issues coming down the pipeline over there.
To hide away from a press conference which is their own chosen few allowed to attend a think Gio Fanny has been sacked and given his P45.
Shameless new club are always angry at something
That’s just one of the things I admire about Big Ange. He never hides like GVB and many of his predecessors have, when anything goes wrong or there’s the slightest bit of criticism for a bad result. Even with the (understandably) rocky start Ange got off to and the hostile media environment any Celtic manager has to work in, he has fronted up to these microphoned clowns every time. He is definitely capable of taking any of these media fuds on. They typically start out trying to make him look stupid, incompetent and out of his depth, but the tables are typically turned with one deft comment – usually a statement ending with the word “mate”.
