‘Unforgivable’ ‘Really poor’ BBC Sportscene pundits go off message with Ibrox criticism

Three weeks into the new season and viewers of BBC Sportscene would be forgiven for thinking that everything was happy and glorious at Ibrox.

Millions have been raked in by selling Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo with seven exciting new signings to take the club to the next level.

Unfortunately, last night John Sick Note Souttar and Ben Davies were watching from the stand, on the bench £5m Turkish star Ridvan Yilmaz was watching Borna Barisic doing Borna Barisic things at left back.

Unlike SPFL opponents PSV Eindhoven weren’t afraid of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side, they identified weaknesses and set out to exploit them.

Especially in central defence where Connor Goldson is trying to strike up a relationship with Jon McLaughlin and James Sands. Last night PSV were merciless from set-pieces.

Listening in to the Radio Scotland analysis of the second PSV Eindhoven goal, the BBC Scotland website reported:

Richard Foster:

It was a fantastic ball in, a great leap and a great header – but he looks unchallenged. It’s really poor.

Steven Thompson:

To lose two goals from corners in one game at this level of football… It’s unforgivable.

If PSV finish the job next week big Thommo, Kenny Macintyre, Al Lamont and Neil McCann will need to head to Celtic Park to watch Champions League matches.
