A spectacular video has surfaced on Twitter showing Celtic’s Champions League return from the Real Madrid corner of the stadium.

Coming just three days after the Glasgow derby the atmosphere in the lead up to the match was incredible as fans got to enjoy Europe’s premier tournament after a painful five year wait.

In just over a year Ange Postecoglou had transformed every area of the club, going into the match he had promised to go on the attack with no concessions despite the calibre of opposition.

Even at the start of September, night-time Celtic Park is still a special experience with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos among those commenting on the occasion.

For 45 minutes there seemed to be a genuine chance of a home win. Liel Abada had two chances, Callum McGregor hit the post, at the start of the second half Daizen Maeda missed a great chance then the visitors demonstrated why they are serial winners of the competition.

Celtic have another Champions League away day on October 5 before ‘hosting’ RB Leipzig on October 11 with those fixtures likely to go a long way towards deciding how likely qualification will be.
