Celtic will be without three key players against Motherwell tomorrow.

Defenders Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers missed the 2-0 defeat away to St Mirren and will be joined on the sidelines tomorrow by Giorgos Giakoumakis who spent the international break with the Greece squad.

Tomorrow’s match against Motherwell shouldn’t present too much of a problem but Wednesday’s game away to RB Leipzig is a much more daunting proposition.

Despite injury concerns during the international break Daizen Maeda and Sead Haksabanovic are available for tomorrow’s game.

Stephen Welsh and Moritz Jenz are likely to play in central defence with Kyogo Furuhashi starting his eighth SPFL match of the season.

With a rush of 13 matches between tomorrow and November 12 Postecoglou can’t afford to take any risk with any of his injured players.

Starfelt last played on September 3 when he picked up a knee injury in the Glasgow derby, that match was only the second SPFL that he had resumed his partnership with Carter-Vickers.

Bosun Lawal took part in first team training on Thursday but the former Watford defender has still to make his competitive debut.

Aye the St Mirren game wasn’t a problem either.and look what happened.

Why not give Lawal a chance alongside Jenz who has been pretty impressive apart from the St mirren game where it was plain to see that a jenz / Welsh pairing in Central defence just did not work at all. Its an area that teams will try to exploit knowing that CCV &CS are not playing. If CCV ain’t available for the CL game in Leipzig then I fear that it could be a long night . I also feel that Bernabei deserves a start as he has looked impressive when he does get a chance on the pitch . Not that Greg Taylor’s form is below par ,he has been a very important player for Celtic but some of these new lads or bench starters need proper game time as maybe that was the problem in central defence in paisley. Yes Jenz has had a good run out but it was the 1st time ive seen Stephen Welsh since late last season on the pitch from the start . Hopefully Ange has been able to gel jenz and Welsh in training since the St Mirren disaster
