Ange Postecoglou is making a trip to Sydney this week ahead of Celtic’s two matches in Australia in November.

The venture has been promoted by Celtic as Ange’s Homecoming Tour as they played down their initial opponents in one of the fixtures.

After a number of protests that disrupted matches it was announced the Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side wouldn’t be taking part leaving the organisers to come up with a replacement and an issue with some fans who had bought tickets expecting to see a Glasgow derby.

Without Tim Cahill Everton are unlikely to capture the imagination but with his regular media slots in Australia the Celtic boss and former Socceroos manager is the main attraction.

Celtic’s core support across Australia will be out in force for both matches, against Sydney FC on November 17 and Everton three days later but Postecoglou being back in Australia just before the World Cup will be the big attraction for other sports fans.

With Scotland playing three matches, including away to Ukraine in Poland next Wednesday the Celtic squad will only have one proper day of training before facing Motherwell on Saturday October 1.

Celtic’s trio of Japanese players have the most travel with Japan away to Ecuador on Tuesday September 27.
