Bayern Munich fans carried a direct message to UEFA after they pandered their fixture schedule following the death of a 96-year-old woman.

Since last Thursday’s news the British media has been involved in a frenzy of grief for an event that they had been well prepared for.

While cricket, golf, rugby and horse racing continued over the weekend football was again sacraficed while pubs, supermarkets, restaurants and cinemas got on with business as usual.

Incredibly Napoli fans were to become the biggest victim of the wave of grief with UEFA caving in to the demands of a club competing in the Champions League for the first time.

It could have been Bayern fans or any other that suffered but during their match against Barcelona last night the Bavarian supporters made their feelings known.

Liverpool were able to host Ajax last night but for reasons that have yet to be explained a Champions League tie 200 miles north had to be put back with away fans banned with no clear reason given.

With one fixture in the group played both sides at Ibrox tonight have an advantage in knowing how the group is shaping up as they prepare to play in front of a crowd wholly consisting of home fans, some paying £71 for the tickets that became available two days three days before the match.
