Celtic’s SPFL title push gets big boost

Celtic’s match on Sunday has been given the go-ahead with Sky Sports showing the action.
Last Friday the SPFL announced that the weekend fixture card had been cancelled meaning that Ange Postecoglou’s side missed the chance to consolidate their lead at the top of the Premiership with a home game against Livingston.
The hoops will be back in action away to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday with the match at Paisley on Sunday followed by an international break.
Following confirmation of the postponement of all fixtures in the professional game across Scotland last weekend as a mark of respect for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we can confirm the intention for the professional game to resume as normal.

The SPFL stated:
This week, as a mark of respect and in keeping with the period of National Mourning, home clubs may wish to hold a period of silence and/or play the National Anthem just ahead of kick-off, and players may wish to wear black armbands.
We thank clubs and league organisations for the mark of respect shown at the weekend and for their efforts in resuming the professional game fixture schedule.

With six wins out of six in the Premiership and an unbeaten record stretching back 38 matches Celtic will be looking to sign off with another win although they were held to a 0-0 draw on their last visit to St Mirren in December.
St Mirren had requested that the match was called off due to players isolating but it went ahead as scheduled, three days after the League Cup Final win over Hibs with Jim Goodwin’s side digging in for a 0-0 draw.
