The Ibrox Tribute Act are desperately trying to find a way to postpone Tuesday’s Champions League tie at home to Napoli.

On the back of two 4-0 defeats Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been spared a trip to Aberdeen tomorrow with all SPFL fixtures postponed this weekend.

A 10 day period of official mourning started at midnight on Thursday but tomorrow the Test Cricket between England and South Africa will resume with Rugby League fixtures going ahead as planned.

UEFA played on with three 8pm kick-offs on Thursday night but in a statement this afternoon the Ibrox club are clearly trying to get their match against Napoli, fresh from a 4-1 win over Liverpool, postponed:

AT this difficult time for the United Kingdom, we are cognisant of ongoing uncertainty regarding supporter arrangements and travel plans for next week.

We are aware of policing and resource pressures, especially on Tuesday, 13th September.

We can confirm that discussions are taking place between UEFA, Police Scotland and Rangers regarding our scheduled UEFA Champions League fixture v Napoli on Tuesday, 13th September.

As present, the game is scheduled to take place at the scheduled date and time.

No matches were postponed following the deaths of Walter Smith, Jimmy Bell or Andy Goram. Tonight at the SEC Ibrox fans can enjoy a booze up with Brian Laudrup and Paul Gascoigne.

  • Scud Missile says:

Oh dear and most of the crowd that would be attending the Aberdeen and the Napoli games would have been heading to the booze up gathering with Laudrup and Gazza.

  • Scud Missile says:

And the thing is when these games get rescheduled they will still complain about playing so many games in such a short space of time.
Maybe Aberdeen should give them the 3 points and Napoli as well.

  • Fred says:

Is this the same team that brought there wings in 1 metre to win a game in Europe. They will do anything to get an advantage. That’s not a football team. They are cheats!!
Rangers are. Running. Scared n. Would. Use. Any. Excuse to. Get. Out. Of. Napila game

Editor: The club that shrunk the pitch against Dinamo Kiev in 1987 passed away in 2012, Her Majesty closed them down after they repeatedly refused to pay her. Messy business.

  • Tony B says:

How disrespectful to Kim Jong Queen.

  • KC67 says:

Trying desperately to avoid a triple hiding.

  • Darren Nicholson says:

Them asking for the Napoli game to be postponed has nothing to do with the queen’s death. They are bricking it and they are afraid that they will get humped for the third game in a row. They need to shut up and get on with it. We (Celtic) have a massive game as well and we are not moaning about it. It shows the different mentalities between the 2 clubs. Celtic can’t wait to play their next games but the rangees are afraid of their next games.

  • Joseph Mcaleer says:

Easy solution, play the game in Naples.

  • peter cassidy says:

they dont wont 3 iar and 4 nil humping again but the poor bigot fans are all upset lizzie is no longer here .

  • Davie says:

I don’t do mourning for anyone I don’t know, Get the football on, with no games I will be mourning the loss of football.

  • Dando says:

    They’ve just dodged another two 4 – 0 hunpings…

  • Michael Donohoe says:

If the Scottish players are upset, then rest them. rANGERs have enough foreign players to field a team..

  • John B says:

These articles are so bitter. Makes the club and its supporters look exactly like its detracters have always claimed them to be.

  • Michael Conway says:

It was a different story when the club linked to sevco stiffed Lizzie out of tax returns but I suppose the desperate sevco are not in a good place at the moment on the football pitch, did Lizzie cancel her functions when oldco died

  • Williecreighton says:

Dirty stinkin, cheatin lowlife. Knew they were scum. But using her death as an excuse to get game called off, takes them to an even lower level. Every other team in Champions League Want to play their fixtures . They’re just scared of taking 3 Pumpings in a row.

  • Michael Donohoe says:

They will have all the chosen few helping them. Sfa, snp police daily bog-roll, and all the other Scottish bog-rolls. Only delaying the BATTERING they deserve.

  • John mcghee says:

Dirty shitebags at cheating liebrox why do they want it cancelled especially after 2012 when the queen refused to help there club for taxes debts so wee lizzy just liquidated them and killed them off for good untill they corrupt scum at hampden sfa.spfl made 5way agreement and the lies started to believed that the sevco fans were watching there beloved club ranjurs thats masonic scotland for you so uefa tell them toget fuck and play there game our kick them out for cheating anyway..
