Kris Boyd couldn’t believe what he was watching as Celtic took charge of the Glasgow Derby today.
The former Kilmarnock striker had convinced himself that there was little between the two teams but Celtic turned on the style to score three first half goals at the same end as the Sky Sports studio.
Apart from 800 away fans tucked in a corner there was bedlam all around as Celtic put their city rivals on the back foot as they attacked from all angles.
Liel Abada scored two trademark goals coming off the flank either side of an incredible finish from Jota.
It was virtually a repeat of the 3-0 win in February that sent Celtic top of the table- a position they maintained through to the end of the season. Six games into the season Celtic are five points clear and looking capable of increasing that lead as the fixtures come thick and fast.
“It’s an annihilation and you’ve just added to it!”

Discussing Celtic’s fourth goal, Football Scotland reports Boyd saying:
If there was ever a team to play over the top of it’s Celtic. Because they’ve got so many on you and they’re so good at it but you look at it and Jon McLaughlin’s got three or four seconds. I’d rather lose it with Alfredo Morelos in a battle on the halfway line than lose it there.
I don’t understand why teams continuously try to pass and probe from the back. The game is over, it’s an annihilation. You’ve just added to it.
The Don’s & Sevco Juniors away in their next 3 domestic fixtures..
The best team in Europe could be in 4th position in their domestic league before the October week holiday !!!
