Kenny Miller certainly created plenty of attention on Sunday morning when he claimed that Ryan Kent was on a par with Jota- and better than three other named Celtic wingers.

Hoops fans were generally amused by the claim, Kent’s performances and stats are a weekly talking point when it comes to step-overs but in terms of producing for the team no-one would put up any real argument to compare the former Liverpool and Benfica wingers.

Joining Celtic on the August Deadline Day, initially on loan, Jota contributed massively to Celtic’s title success with 13 goals across all competitions including three in the post split fixtures to help deliver the title.

In his fourth season at Ibrox Kent managed two goals in the SPFL plus a heavily deflected shot that went into the net away to Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

Despite the stats and over a year of watching the contribution of both players Keith Jackson was standing by Miller’s claim as the Daily Record asked their top reporters for their thoughts:

Kenny Miller reckons Ryan Kent is on a par with Jota and better than Celtic’s other wingers – do you agree?

KEITH JACKSON: In terms of ability, yes. Kent has got the lot. But Miller is right to question the winger’s productivity. Perhaps there wouldn’t be such a heavy onus on him if Rangers had recruited someone to do the same job on the other side of the pitch.

Already this season Jota has scored four times and picked up a Champions League Man of the Match award while his ‘rival’ across the city has been waiting since December to notch a goal in the SPFL.

Yes he has got the ability but so has so many players but he disentangle have the mentality or discipline that jota has for sime reason Kent fears mistakes even one just hasn’t the thought he can’t do it every time he gets ball trying to beat three or more players is good but assits are the difin tanner ball players and a player who plays for his team mates celtic lost to St mirren it’s bad well done to St mirren nullifying celtic but sorry celtic never got up to tempto to many back passes and as nanager says players think they are better than they are playing possession football no good if your going backwards is not the way to go refs are going to ruin games with allowing goal keepers and players waking about for goal kicks and corners throw ins it’s cheating and refs need to get this mentally of giving wee team some leeway there are eleven athletes against eleven if ones fitter and better players that should be an advantage not a team that spends all 90 minutes into frustrating time waisting cause they can’t compete with speed and fitness of the opposition referees in charge and has a obligation to make it spectacle for supporters come on ref stop trying to even up cause teams aren’t as fit as others

Imagine asking the BOOZE JOCKEY a question like that,it’s obvious he is going to agree with his fellow Lester Piggott in the shape of Miller.
They needed something the latch on to and our bad result yesterday was the green light to go for it.,and they won’t let it go now.
As for Clarke Kent oh dear, not one single bid or one bit of interest for him in the summer that’s how good he is.
The next one get talked up again will Kamara getting compared to Callum McGregor even though Kamara was another they couldn’t get shot of over the summer.
