Mikael Lustig has enough derby mad memories to form the basis of a decent book.

There was the incident with the Police Hat, the green and white wig and being the only Celtic player to score the fifth goal at Ibrox, courtesy of a Messi-like run in April 2017.

Some players pass through clubs, kiss the badge, wave to fans then disappear in the night to their next stop off. Not Lustig!

It is more than three years since he last featured in the fixture, in April 2019 a late goal for James Forrest as good as clinched title number eight with Lustig’s shirt almost ripped off by Andy Halliday in the aftermath.

These days Lustig is enjoying a quieter life back in Sweden with AIK, on Saturday he kept a close eye on one of his former clubs, knowing full well the emotions conjured up by a four goal winning margin on Derby Day.

I remember that goal! It was brilliant. He took the ball for a high-tempo, mazy waltz, right through the sevco’s defence, who looked on in utter amazement, wondering what he was going. And as he dodged a cupla half-hearted tackles and he stuck the ball in the net, in front of the Celtic supporters at the Broomloan Road End and as he ran away to celebrate, I looked at my watch and it said exactly, “Five – Past – Foderingham”. No kidding!
