Police Scotland are believed to be investigating claims that glass bottles were thrown at Dundee United supporters inside Ibrox on Saturday.

With that area of the ground heavily segregated it shouldn’t be too difficult to confirm whether or not the claims are genuine.

CCTV coverage can be used as back up with more than 90% of the seats at Ibrox used by Season Ticket holders known to the club.

The Sun reports:

POLICE are probing claims that Rangers fans threw glass bottles at Dundee United supporters after away fans booed during a minute’s silence for the Queen.

Officers have confirmed that they are investigating reports of objects allegedly being thrown into the away section at Ibrox on Saturday.

It’s claimed Gers supporters acted in retaliation after United fans disrupted the tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

In April Joe Hart discovered broken glass in his penalty area as he emerged at the Copeland Road Stand for the start of the second half. Despite a police investigation it appears that the culprit has still to be identified.
