Despite the best efforts of a whipped up media Scotland has shown complete indifference to events in London today.
A week ago the eyes of the world were apparently focussed on a street in Edinburgh. As usual it was packed with tourists with only the off Morningside accent to be heard among the hundreds of curious American’s and English visitors.
Just over 30,000 walked past a coffin although one bright spark admitted to seven visits.
The circus moved south in midweek, today thousands of people were given a day off work but despite a couple of misguided councils putting up big screens barely anyone wanted to watch a funeral out in public.
Reporters dispatched to cover the ‘events’ were made to look more foolish that North Korean or Iraqi broadcasters telling the world the complete opposite to what was happening.
Over the last week football matches have been forced to put on shows of support and sympathy that isn’t merited or justified.
Anyone wanting to show their respect can do so but over the last 10 days there hasn’t been any intrusions to visiting a cinema, supermarket or garden centre.
At some stage in the next week the media will need to reel their neck in and realise that the public has reality to deal with, in some cases pretty grim realities will be faced in the coming months.
Increasingly alternative news sources will be sought out for real news and real issues, it is time some publishers and broadcasters learned to move on.

Lol 24/7 coverage for the last 10 days ,no adverts shown on the TV at all for the complete day yesterday be that ITV or the Sky or freeview channels as a so called marl of respect,and then you see pictures of the sevco store opened at Glasgow Airport.
