Against a nation that has been at war since February the SFA will stage a Minute of Applause for the death of one 96-year-old lady.

There was some shock, horror reaction to the decision of St Mirren to hold a Minute of Applause for the visit of Celtic on Sunday but there has barely been any mainstream coverage of the SFA decision.

No explanation has been given for the decision to break with tradition, clubs across England held a Minute of Silence at their matches over the weekend.

SFA Chief Executive Ian Maxwell has avoided commenting on the decision with no coverage on the SFA website about how they will honour the memory of the late monarch.

A crowd of around 30,000 is expected for the Nations League match, in June Ukraine ended Scotland’s World Cup hopes with a win at Hampden.
