Carl Starfelt was a notable absentee from the open training session that Celtic held for the media ahead of facing Real Madrid.

Most supporters were looking out for Kyogo Furuhashi who appeared after the final whistle of Saturday’s Glasgow Derby with his arm in a sling.

The striker was spotted by Sky Sports reporter Mark Benstead provided a concerning update on Starfelt.

Ten minutes into the second half on Saturday Starfelt went down with a knee injury to be replaced by Moritz Jenz.

The Swede was only starting his second SPFL match of the season after suffering an injury on international duty at the start of June.

Being left sided Jenz is probably the favourite to replace Starfelt if he isn’t available but Stephen Welsh played impressively alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers in pre-season and in the SPFL opener at home to Aberdeen.
